Ministries
LGBT Asylum Task Force Learn More The LGBT Asylum Task Force is a ministry of Hadwen Park Congregational Church, UCC that welcomes LGBTQ people of all faith traditions. We provide housing, food, and connection to legal, medical and mental resources at local agencies.
Holiday Food Baskets Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner for 50 needy families in our community is donated by the church and packed into cartons by church members just before each holiday.
Touch of Grace Prayer Ministry A box designated to receive prayer requests is located in the chancel. Parishioners are invited to place written prayer requests in the box at any time the church is open. The Prayer Outreach team will offer intercessory prayer for your concerns as they pray over the Prayer Box often.
Our Outreach Prayer Ministry is available for specific prayer needs when notified by e-mail. You may also leave a note in the offering plate requesting specific needs or urgent prayers. The Prayer Ministry will then be notified. To find out more about the Prayer Ministry or to request prayer contact: TouchofGodsGrace@gmail.com. Choir Choir members share their vocal talents every Sunday leading the congregation along with Brett Maguire in song during worship.
Praise and Worship Chorale Once a month chorale members share their lively praise and worship music with the congregation. The chorale is made up of asylum seekers who enjoy music from their own traditions and countries and wish to share it.
BSA Scout Troop and Pack 22 The church sponsors and hosts BSA Troop and Cub Pack 22 on Thursday nights September through May. Please contact Rachel Decatur for more details: Rdecatur74@gmail.com. |
Committee Work - To accomplish all this, we are organized into committees; members are encouraged to serve where their talents and interests lie.
|
Governance - As a United Church of Christ congregation, we govern ourselves through congregational meetings, elected officers and the Church Council as specified by our bylaws. The election of officers, adoption of a budget and acceptance of reports of officers and committees is carried out at an annual meeting, typically held in January. In between annual meetings, the Church Council (consisting of elected church officers and representatives of the committees) conduct church business. Other congregational meetings may be called as necessary to conduct major business. |
